DISCORD

No NSFW//
This is a +17 group, so under no circumstances is NSFW allowed. If you post NSFW your post will be deleted and you will receive a strike.

No bullying//
Treat others how you want to be treated! Carry yourself with kindness towards the community and staff. This is a zero bullying server and if you feel bullied by a community member, please don't hesitate to contact a staff member.

No sensitive topics in OOC chat//
Avoid discussing or linking sensitive or heavy topics in the public ooc chat. If you have any questions about what is allowed, please feel free to message the staff privately or open a ticket! If it is appropriate or group-related, or you find that you really need to share it, it is important that you provide adequate warnings before posting about it.

Vent channel//

Be mindful when using the vent channel. We are not mental health professionals and everyone, staff and members alike, are fallible when giving responses and feedback - the responses and overall topics themselves that are posted by the community have the potential of doing direct harm to another person, even if we don’t mean it to. Remember: we never fully know what someone else has been through, or is currently going through. If you or someone you know is in a situation that is dangerous or harmful, please reach out to local resources and helplines. https://www.helpguide.org/find-help

Personal drama//
Avoid bringing personal drama to the group. If you have a problem with a member, or you suspect they are harmful to the community, please contact the staff. However, remember that the staff is not here to moderate your personal relationships. We assume our members are adults capable of talking with each other.

Voice chat//

Please be friendly in voice chat. Follow the rules above and do not discuss NSFW, political or otherwise harmful topics. Gaming, drawing or simply hanging out in our voice chat is allowed. Staff are not always available to be present in every voice chat for moderation - please reach out via a ticket if something happens that is cause for concern.

Streaming//

Streaming in voice chat is allowed, as long as you stream age appropriate and our rule abiding material.

Advertising other groups//

This is allowed as long as it is made clear what age range the group is for and what the topics in the group are. No sharing of NSFW groups.

Ticket open time//
Character ticket, assignment ticket and character progression tickets can be open for one month with no reply from the member. After a month the staff will close the ticket.

GENERAL

Age limit //

This group is 17+, as we allow more heavier topics as long as they are done with grace.  Anyone who joins and is found to be under the age of 17 will be removed from the community.

Be Respectful //

Please treat others around you the way you want to be treated! Bullying will not be tolerated; trying to cause harm to another person in the group will result in immediately being booted. Derogatory references to race, gender, sexual orientation, mental illness, or religion is unacceptable. If someone is being disrespectful to you, please be sure to let an admin know!

Do not  steal //
Tracing and copying designs is not permitted, nor is copying the personalities and histories of other characters. Additionally, be mindful to not overtake someone else’s plotline that they are in the process of developing or playing out in game.

Application Art //

Application art can be your own artwork, a commission, a colored base, character makers (such as picrews) or photo of a real life cat - there is no requirement in ability to do art to be a part of the group. However, if using a commission, base, maker, or photo that does not belong to you, be sure that you have the permissions to use it and credit is given to the artist or photographer.

Respecting Dark Subjects//

While we allow characters who range from morally ambiguous to downright disgusting, we ask that you treat those characters and their actions with seriousness outside of character and within the public chats. Though the situations and characters in the group are fictional, many things explored in these stories can affect people in real life and should be handled with respect and care both in and out of character. TNS welcomes the exploration of awful characters and darker themes, but they need to be recognized and treated as they heavy subject they are. We ask that member take care and be mindful about the jokes they are making regarding characters and they're actions, especially in relation to serious and potentially upsetting situations, such as domestic violence and child abuse in the public chats.

Humor //

We recognize that everyone has different senses of humor and varying levels of what they do or do not tolerate or condone when it comes to making light of certain topics. TNS is a very public, open 17+ Discord community welcoming members from many different cultural backgrounds and life experiences living in one space. We ask members to be mindful and respectful when engaging in humor related to sensitive and often distressing topics, such as domestic violence, child abuse, kidnapping, and similar subjects. We also understand that conflicts related to humor and language may arise. If that happens, staff encourages members to discuss issues directly with each other or seek moderation and staff assistance to mediate conversations if needed. If issues were discussed and continue to occur, please don't hesitate to open a ticket with staff so we can figure out how best to move forward.

ROLEPLAY

Be Realistic //

While this is slightly skewed due to being a roleplay about talking cats, you are still expected to be realistic! Do not make your character overpowered or have strange abilities unusual for felines in the Warriors world. See character guidelines in order to see what is allowed and what is not when creating your character.

Roleplay Topics //

Make sure your roleplay partner is comfortable with writing darker and heavier topics. If this is included in your character's backstory, be sure to provide appropriate content warnings, as to not harm other people in the community. Please use appropriate trigger warnings or spoilers in your posts that include content that could be considered sensitive.

Roleplay Styles //

Most styles of roleplay are welcome in TNS, script or otherwise, and we have no minimal word count! But please try to give as much effort in your work as your roleplay partner does.

Literacy Level //

This is a literate rp group, so make sure you are prepared! You don't need to be the best at writing, but as long as you can make coherent text you are good to go!

Roleplay Situations //

Always discuss situations such as battles, wounds, romance and rivalries with your roleplay partner. If you are thinking about killing off or retiring a character, especially if that character was originally a family tryout, make sure you are courteous in reaching out to the players of family and plotting partners.

Roleplay channels //

There are ''dailies'' channels for each clan and outsider group. These channels are meant for short term posts, with 5 sentences only and a max of 4 posts per day, and are not meant to be used to portray heavy topics or subjects matters due to the limited space they provide. If you want to delve deeper into your characters mental illness, traumas or physical illnesses, please use the other roleplay channels that are meant for long form posts.

CHARACTERS

Follow the Character Guidelines //

Please follow the character guidelines page when making your character! There is listed what is and what is not allowed when creating your character.

Labels and Identity //

We are a LGBTQIA+ friendly group so your character is welcome to identify by any gender of sexual/romantic orientation, and wear it as openly and proudly as they like!

Disabilities //

We are a disability friendly group, your characters are allowed to have disabilities and mental illnesses. However, be aware that these disabilities cannot affect our Battle-, HP- or Hunting Systems. They are purely for flavor text for your character. When having a character with a disability or mental illnesses, the responsibility of portraying them respectfully and informatively falls onto you. When portraying disabilities, mental illnesses, or symptoms that you do not experience you must put in the effort to research them from reliable sources BEFORE creating or submitting the character for review. Any sign of portraying the disability with ill intentions or like a caricature will result in you being kicked.

If you are concerned about a character's portrayal of disability, please contact the staff!

Having Kits //

Your character can have kits when they are over 12 moons old, but a 12 moon old parent is seen as a very young, inexperienced one. A pregnancy lasts one(1) irl month. Your character is limited to 4 litters or 10 kits, whichever they reach first. Stillborn kits don't count to this rule, but NPC and adopted kits do. This applies to both dmab and dfab parents. The characters involved ages, skills and their surrounding circumstances affect the litter size. There is a process in having either biological kits, adopted kits or kits through other means in roleplay that you have to follow. Your characters cannot have kits without going through this process. Please visit our Kit Guide to see what it entails.

Becoming mates //

Becoming mates requires time and effort. Please, read more about how to become official mates here. Apprentices cannot become mates and cannot ever become mates with a cat who was their mentor even after they are warriors themselves. Characters from the ages of 12 - 48 moons can have a maximum of 24 moon age gap with their mate. When all characters involved are above that age, the age of their mate does not matter. Please also be mindful of family trees when shipping characters together. Arranged mateship is included in this rule.

Character limit //

You get a new character slot every 2 months! You start with 4 characters. Please keep in mind to have only as many characters as you feel like you can manage.

Strike system

celtic-divider_edited.png

In The North Star we have a 3 strike system for breaking the rules. If you are caught repeatedly or severely breaking the rules you will receive a strike. After 3 strikes you are banned from the server and cannot join again. So make sure you have read our rules and understand how you are expected to act when you join the server. In certain, more severe, instances that threaten the safety of the community staff has the right to bypass the strike system and ban a community member outright. The strike system may be open to staff interpretation.

Policies

-Staff instantly bans all bots and those who join just to spread links to other servers.

-The staff remain neutral to minor interpersonal issues and encourage members to settle interpersonal issues between themselves before seeking staff assistance with mediation if required.

-Actions and behaviors of individuals before joining the group are considered on a case by case basis. While TNS recognizes that some behaviors and actions can be corrected over time and effort, other past actions, such as predatory behavior, are not acceptable within our group.

If you have concerns over someone’s past actions or behaviors you can raise this with the staff through the ticket system.
